Seasons

Seasons

Living in the UK makes it easy to complain once summer has passed and it starts to get cold and gloomy outside, but there is something wonderful about witnessing the clear change of seasons.

Autumn is such a stunning time of year with all its red, orange and yellow hues. I also believe it’s nature’s way of reminding us that change and death is inevitable. Nature has its growth and bloom period and then there comes a time when it starts to shed, turns inward and goes through a beautiful death so that it’s ready to make space for the eventual arrival of new life.

In a similar way, we go through our own cycle - times when we’re content in the spaces that we’re in (be in mental or physical) and then times when shifts start to occur and things begin to change and we start entering a new phase or period in life. This can feel very uncomfortable, because we’re creatures of habit and there’s a shit ton of inertia in the familiar.

But sometimes (*actually most, if not all of the time) surrendering and letting things happen just as they are and realising that we have a lot less control than we think, is the key to staying sane - not to mention how truly liberating it can be!

So this is just a reminder to be mindful of where you are and to give yourself extra care (without the guilt) if that’s what you need right now.

Sending love during this testing time,

S.
